A bit confused... so, he was the villain of a novel, and then he... goes back into the past? or does he transmigrate to a different world??

This is a super late response, but reasons why ML took LX (protag) as disciple are various and all stemming from his guilt from perving on his own disciple. Master-disciple relationship aside (it's considered kinda incestual, since it's kind of father-child in tone), ML raised MC from a tiny baby to his current age. MC is no longer a baby, but ML thinks of himself as this huge sinful pervert MC needs protecting from and that's why he distances himself. He takes on LX sorta to distract himself, I think (and LX also has plot armor, so).

I skipped and read the ending though I never finished this novel properly either. MC does something like mess around with space/time and the heavens so that their world is no longer bound to the novel's logic -- it becomes a regular world. But in the process, it resets time and people to before the protag's arrival (the protag who no longer exists, I believe). So MC's friend doesn't know him now since they've never met, but he's fine. MC was heartbroken over ML no longer knowing him in this new world, but we find out that somehow ML and some other guy (I think sect head?) still have their memories. MC and ML immediately engage in victory + reunion sex and ignore the sect head guy shouting for them.

Huh? Died?.....
I want to try this novel, but,... The ML died...?
How could he died? How? Oh, poor MC, don't tell me, the MC Will life alone, healing himself and then, happy ending? R.I.P me

The sex scenes are explicit right? Please tell me they’re explicit and not just glossed over
