Also what was the reason for the pity? Was there a sob story behind her evil actions? 

If i'm not forget it, it because she's the oldest daughter, so she must handle the house matters and watch the youngest daughter. But he actually really love his child. (a lil bit spoiler : in the climax of the story, he even sacrifice his live for his oldest daughter -i forgot her name-) 

Yes, in the game, he never met with Mirabelle. Even the scene where Mirabelle hid him in the bathroom, they replaced her with FL. In the original novel, I heard Kuhn ended up with Mirabelle, but I don't know how.

Spoiler: The empress' back storyI'm writing this as a spoiler since I don't know if the reason is the same between the game and the original novel. This is what the empress told FL. Actually, she was engaged first to the emperor. In the story, being engaged to someone was considered the same as already married. But in that situation, FL's mother introduced ML's mother to the emperor. The emperor married ML's mother and made her the empress while she became the 2nd wife. At that time, she was still kind and treated ML nicely, this was confirmed by ML himself. However after she knew that her two miscarriages was caused by the flower the then empress sent to her, which was the same as the one she gave to FL, she became evil and killed ML's and FL's mothers.

SpoilerThe Female Protagonist want to be a bodyguard to her prince after saving him to change the future so her family survives in this timeline by making that prince the next emperor and with contractual marriage make her the next empress, but as the story progress her feeling for him progress and her memories of him that she had forgotten came back. Which show the reason as to why she was able to return to the past, survive despite her entire family being wipe out in the past leaving only her, and why the prince love her so much despite her initially not remembering him. The reason why she was able to return to the past is because the Prince, who had no one left to care in the world and was about to be sent to the battlefield thinking he will die, wanted to live after the female protagonist that promise to show him the world once they meet again like go to a bakery and see the opera, so to make sure she will be able to fulfill her promise and keep her safe he gave her a magical ring that can grant one wish made by him and that wish was to keep her safe from death or the equivalent. So this was how she was able to return to the past after dying in the first timeline. Right now she married with the prince and became the imperial princess that is going to fight both the Grand Duke that killed her in the past and the Empress that is the obstacle to the prince becoming Emperor.

P.S. this is not an R-18 novel, in fact, the protagonist only kiss the prince 70 chapters later during their marriage ceremony and she had even forgotten about kissing the prince during the marriage ceremony. As she at first thought the prince was a playboy because of how he acts towards her like she was a sex object to him and so she made him sign a contract that they can't have sex until he become emperor with her as empress. So yeah, no R-18, in fact she did not even notice that the prince loved her until Chapter 96... So she had her first kiss in two lifetime and got married with no idea that her husband is in love with her the entire time and just assume he was playboy after her body. but at the same time it change in chapter 96 after she was told by the prince of how crazy he fell in love with her and made her first move to initiate a kiss for the first time. 

This manhua is like all those other manhuas where a female travels back in time to save herself or her family. Then wants to marry the duke crown prince so they have power? they then say "I want a marriage without love and I know you do too" but they are the ones who always fall in love first. there is nothing special about this manhua am so so sorry to say. and I didn't type all of this to vent but I did cause I want to hear want others think about my comment/thoughts

Um so did MCs father die in end? Why did he dislike MC? And what was the last letter he wrote for her in the first tl? Did she ever get to know about the content of the last letter addressed to her????
