Lets start with the backstory-i’m sure you’ve read how the MC and his other frnds like that ex and his boss and that esports player frnd were in a band right…a nameless band and MC encountered the ML who was going to commit suicide and ML not doing so in the end.Well they start getting attention gradually but one of the frnds brother gets a huge debt for which they use the band’s funds and MC’s ex persuades MC to go to school so they disband bit before disbanding ML drunkenly kisses the MC and then tells him there’s someone he likes-so MC thinks ML has a white moonlight which he doesn’t.Anyway the next flashback is about how they meet again when the MC and his ex participate in talent show to debut and meet the ML who was just scouted by someone and MC pairs with ML and fun times.But the debut company does the unspoken rules,so to stop them from making MC do them too ML blackmails them by recording the company’s boss when he was telling him to be an escort.MC is saved but the ML loses his chance at debut.Painful moment for both since MC wanted to debut with him and so did the ML.Anyway MC starts to rise to limelight and ML is treated as a nobody and then they meet at an event where the ML is not even provided a seat.MC leaves his seat to stand with him and tells him that he didn’t want to debut without him and its depicted so beautifully in the novel.This moment was like a knife stabbing in your heart.ML just smiles and thinks that its a good thing that he didn’t tell the MC about not being able to debut since he didn’t want MC to be treated like him too.Third flashback is near the MC’s birthday and MC’s busy but wants to invite ML to his birthday party while ML secretly colludes with some obsessive fan who is srsly hostile to the MC.Anyway this was the most painful flashback.The obssessive fan causes his mother’s accident which leads to the MC signing an unfair contract with his company and then personally breaks MC’s hands so he can never drum.MC and his ex start having real relationship problems and you can easily see the MC falling out of love from him and see how much more he cares for the ML.The scene where the ML cries and the MC is wiping his tears with his injured hand just again stabs you so bad.This flasback was the rock bottom i tell you! Anyway ML asks MC to act with him in a drama but MC worries about ML and gives this resource to his ex and that finally breaks the ML and thus he starts love-hating him.In the last flashback,the MC asks ML to pretend to be lovers with him to mask his ex’s scandal to which the ML agrees but since he’s still angry he acts snarky which strengthens MC’s idea about him being a substitute.ML lastly asks him if he wants to date him which the MC takes as him being sarcastic and tells him not to joke and the relationship b/w these two then completely crumbles.And then the obsessive fan causes the accident and death.

ML has basically known all along that MC was reincarnated from the from his writing,habits,stage style but this conjecture was only strengthened further with different incidents like fear of heights and finally when the MC acknowledges his own mother.The ML just says Happy birthday to the MC as the day is MC’s prev life’s birthday at which the MC broke his hand and could not drum anymore and the ML never said happy birthday to him in his previous life
Its obsessive fan thats after him because he looks like his prev self and she is hostile to his prev self cause he was close to Sheng Kongzhi that scum ex boyfriend whose fan she is
