When the Nemesis Eats the Wicked Woman/ When the Natural Enemy Eats the Villain

I think it depends on the case and the cause for murder.

For example, MC and ML in Abandoned Empress are set to be married from a very young age. Both didn't choose to be with each other at the beginning but only the MC try to get to know ML and have a good relationship regardless. I cannot like ML in Abandoned Empress because the ML was terribly unkind to MC in the first timeline due to his own misunderstanding and shitty personality. Others try to defend him by saying he was poisoned which does not explain his terrible behaviour BEFORE he was poisoned. The poison only escalates something bad that was already there. In other words, this is personal. If I were in MC's position, I would NOT consider trying with that ML ever again. I have no deep beef with the one in the new timeline but I can't forgive the one in the previous timeline hence it would be impossible for me to be with him regardless of the timeline since they are literally the same person.

In Angelic Lady, MC's original fiance was kind to her UNTIL he was brainwashed with the love potion that seems to remove one's reasoning ability as well (as proven by the MC who has taken the dose herself in the first timeline) which caused him to be terribly unkind to her after that. It's not his fault but the trauma from being betrayed and mentally tortured remains. If I were in MC's position, I would not forgive him as he has done nothing wrong. I would definitely consider trying to be with him again if only I wasn't so traumatized by him.

In The Villainess Who Has Been Killed 108 Times, MC and ML were political enemies and due to some missteps on MC's part in every timeline, it is difficult for them to openly reconcile even though PERSONALLY SPEAKING, they do not hate each other at all. Even when the ML kills MC in previous timelines, he does it quickly without humiliating her or her corpse, just to get the job over with. Even the MC accept it peacefully and is glad that he's the one who kills her instead of the others. No hatred between them whatsoever. If I were in MC's position, yes, I would definitely be a little bit scared of being killed again but traumatized? Traumatized as in 'suffering from severe fear, anxiety, or depression'? No. Maybe I do from other things/people, but none from the ML himself. So, again, there's nothing to be forgiven. I definitely wouldn't mind being with him if I were in MC's shoes.

In When the Nemesis Eats the Wicked Woman, I find it to be similar to The Villainess Who Has Been Killed 108 Times. The only difference is that the murder count is much lower in this one. They have never been lovers. They have never been betrayed by each other. They are enemies from the start. ML killed MC because he wants to protect his country. MC would have done the same if she's in his place. Hence, no hatred whatsoever between them either, just misunderstandings. Kill or be killed. That's it. So, would I forgive him if I were in MC's shoes? Again, no, I wouldn't as there's literally nothing to forgive. He has done nothing wrong. I definitely would not mind being with him in the new timeline.

That's because the FL tried for the first time going back to the castle to see if maybe her parents felt guilty about abandoning her (she never thought about reconciliation with her family in previous timelines). Her mother actually told her to go back to the swamp and die, and it was on her way back that she encountered ML.

I think I just can't enjoy this novel because the ml is the type who would put his people above FL. My ideal ml is the type who'd kill everyone else for FL. This novel just isn't for people like me. I still can't get over how he'd kill FL if the Oracle once again says that she'd cause the downfall of the country. And the fact he killed her over and over but only fell in love with her in this life where she took care of him when he was a kid. What if she dies again and in her next life she doesn't meet him as a kid? Will he still love her? Probably not. L male lead for me. Give me the villain ML who'd slaughter everyone else for FL even if the FL is 'cursed'

I'll still read this damn novel despite my anger and frustration. There could have been a lot of things that fl could do, rather than just wait for him to kill her. She could at least turn into a real tyrant and just freeze everything isn't she a returnee anyway. But still I'm not the author. Still I can't forgive them for not giving proper revenge..... At least in my opinion those people or whatever who were acting so scared were the ones who gave her up once. I can't possibly be a good monarch after that.

Just finished this so figured I'd add some more spoilers. I do have to say that the story isn't the most amazing thing I've ever read but it's still a decent read. It's very sweet with an OP FL (justifiable really) who actually does take advantage of the experiences she's had over the various regressions. The ML is kind of yandere-ish but he does prioritize her over everything else (even stating he'll take her last name as opposed to forcing her to take his last name).

It's mostly glossed over what she does in each timeline but she does try different things. It's just that the same events play out and she ends up dead four years after taking the throne. The 8th timeline is the first time she went back to see if her mother missed her which leads her to discover that her mother is absolute garbage. Again, it's super glossed over but it's revealed that her brothers eventually imprison her mother and then the monarchy of Spinel falls.

Upon returning to the swamp where she was abandoned, she meets the ML which sets up a chain of events that leads to the ML returning years later to propose to her.It gives very little detail about what he's done in each timeline other than his fight for survival when the nobles all try repeatedly to kill him. The only thing that's different is the end of the 7th timeline. The FL says something (can't quite remember but it's basically how she wanted to live too and not be lonely or to die like that after a lonely life) which actually bothers him throughout the end of the timeline. This makes him question FL's role in the calamity (as the oracle claims that the one bearing the blue flower will bring about calamity) and as he's dying, he's visited by the spirit(s) that raised the FL. The spirit then tells him it's up to him and the next regression starts.

Only this time, he finds the FL in the swamp while blind and falls in love with the little girl who helps him. He doesn't remember anything about the other lives at this point but he basically decides as a cursed little boy that the little girl who gave him candy was going to be his wife. He only sees her face once before leaving to keep the Assassins away from her (as they were chasing him). He left a note for her but she never read it and just thought he left. He returns years later and proposes which is what starts the story. She is indeed more traumatized by her family (especially her trash-mother) than the guy who shows up to end her life. She only ever meets him at the end when he comes to kill her and that's it in all the other timelines. There was no reaction from him or his kingdom in the first 7 lives until the flower blooms and he comes to kill her.

Until her 8th life when he shows up as a child. Even then, she still made herself forget as she did not want to remember the good memories as a child as he was going to come kill her again at the end. She's basically had a lifetime to forget the pain of dying at his hands. Without the lifetime, she's a mess as evidenced by when she loses her memory of the entire life and just remembers dying at the ML's hands (she straight up attacks the ML when she sees him upon waking with amnesia).

When she falls in love with him during this lifetime, she doesn't want to admit it to him because she doesn't want him to have the trauma of having to kill the woman he loves if the oracle comes down like it has in the past lives. The ML is such a simp for the FL that he notices something is wrong throughout their entire romance. Basically, one minute she's hot and the next she's cold. He believes something happened between the time they met as children and when he proposed to her so he finds a relic to look into her past. The relic, however, shows him almost everything from all her lives. He gets to see her life unfold and how he killed her 7 times. You could almost say he's more traumatized about the regression than she is as he can't wrap his head around why he would kill her (like I said, total simp).

The only thing he doesn't see in their past life is why he killed her as that was blocked by the demon Johann had made a deal with. This also allows the demon to hide it's identity and it's connection to Johann. The villain quickly becomes obsessed with the FL. The demon finds it ironic as that's the woman he's paired with the villain in every previous lifetime (because the demon remembers all 7 regressions), which he informs the villain of which makes him even more delighted (she's my fate, yadda yadda). He's further enticed to wanting her by the demon who tells him that the blue flower will bind the FL to him (it's implied that it'll take away her will but we don't really see that happening). However, the demon begins acting sketchy and the villain suspects that there is something he's missing.

So, the villain uses the same relic that the ML used (but in a way that violates how the relic works even though it doesn't really have a consequence for him). He learns then that she's died at the hands of the ML but he also learns that he's died to the Demon and that everything is a setup for the demon to take over. Which results in the villain going off the deep end. He instigates the apocalypse early, kills the demon and then attempts to kill everyone else. He doesn't care if he kills the FL as he believes he can resurrect her with the power of the demon.
All in all, it's a decent read and not overly long.
