I just read the manga till 330 and she is married to the 9th prince now emperor. So I am a little lost. In one post someone said that she ends up with the red haired guy but here till chapter 500 she is still the Empress and with the purple haired emperor. It looks like she really lives him :/

She first meets him at the beginning. He's going nuts and killing people.
Later on, she's saved by the crown prince a few times. He falls in love with her. She hears crazy sounds in the palace at night.
eventually, she finds that the red-headed guy, beiwang, is locked up in one of the forbidden areas in the palace.
She ends up finding him and helping him out a lot. He has nothing but an old bed, and not enough blankets. He has been poisoned and abused from a young age. His mother poisoned him with a poison that makes him sweat ice, hurts him, and makes him cold. His father the emperor tortures him by locking him up, making him kneel on blocks of ice, and other things. His mother was forced to carry him and was forced to marry his father and hates him. Before she died, she said that her son would kill his father in revenge.. He also can't control himself from killing people as a defense mechanism to protect himself in the palace from all the people trying to kill him and hurt him from a young age.
The crown prince eventually dies and she ends up living with the 9th prince at some point, even though this whole time she has a crush on 7th prince.
9th prince becomes the crown prince, and later, the emperor and tries to get her to marry him.
She ends up poisoned from some palace machinations from the spoiled princess. Part of the deal for something to help is that 9th prince has to send her away. He sends her to a assassins' guild. Come to find out, the head is her father
Through many trials and tribulations, her brother, 7th prince, and 9th prince get the antidote. But, the antidote was for Beiwang, because he has been poisoned with the same poison. Also, the person who came up with the antidote is actually the general of a deposed country disguised as a monk. The country his mother was from. He is the hidden crown prince and they want to revive the country and take it back under his flag
She chooses him every time, but she "dies" from the evil princess's machinations... accidentally 'killed' by 9th prince
Then, she wakes up in the present after a year has passed and forgot that she had been transmigrated
But then she transmigrates back into her body in the other world. She wasn't dead, just mostly-dead. But she forgot her past. Through some trials and tribulations, 9th prince, who is the emperor, finds her and takes her back to the palace. He tries to trick her into marrying him, but on the wedding date, Beiwang finds her and she leaves with him
But then Beiwang can't be with her if he is going to revive the deposed country. She doesn't want him to, but she doesn't want to stop him. She cares about him so she decides that she is going to give herself to him and leave. On the day they are marching out to start a coup, he finds out she has left, and realizes that he loves her over being king of a country so he quits the uprising.
