I think the new Berserk definitely needs time and lenience from the audience to develop. I mean, we've not even received a full new volume yet, and given the start of Miura's own Berserk chapters, time and experience creating quality isn't a foreign concept.
With that being said, as it is right now, the pacing feels pretty bad. I feel like I was barely able to react to what happened in the last few chapters, and it feels very much like the story wants to move on quickly rather than naturally. The last two chapters picked it up a bit though and I liked those more. But given how much time we saw Elfhelm for, it being decimated and now a non-factor in the story being constricted to a couple of pages, as well as Guts and Griffith's reunion being poorly paced leaves a sour taste in my mouth. But I have faith it will get better.
