Honestly I think the best thing to do as a fan of Berserk is to only remember the story up to volume 26. After Guts got his armor its all gone downhill, soon the manga will be renamed Magical Girl Schierke and her band of merry loli's. I really wish Miura would just end the damn story already. I don't want to see my favorite Senin manga continue in this direction to the point where its unrecognizable. I mean its hard for anyone to follow a manga that releases a grand total of about 6-8 chapters per year which never seem to progress the plot.
If Miura is so intent in making a loli manga then he should make a new manga to quell his fetish for little girls and leave Berserk alone.....
I actually think it's genius how the tone has changed so drastically since the fantasia arc. It has almost shifted into high fantasy entirely now, but we know that's not the truth. The lighter tone now may mean another drop in the near future. Last time everything was happy, it all went to pot pretty damn quickly.
I always thought that was what Miura intended to do with the new characters and the new Band of Hawk. But as time passed I don't know anymore. The plot keeps diverging, and there are way too many unnecessary characters introduced. If he does plan to go into a spiral of depression when guts lowers his guard like he did before it will be redeeming and I'll take back what I said. However I'm not sure he will go as far as he has in the past, the whole series has changed so much since the original Eclipse that I honestly don't have a clue how he is planning to end it.
Miura really needs to push the story forward he's been stalling for years now, I really want to know what he plans on doing with Caska. As has already been said here she needs to stop being retarded, I really miss the old bad ass Caska from the Golden Age Arc. Not that I expect Miura to make her return to her old ways that seems unlikely.
So yeah I think the focus needs to go back to Guts/Caska/Grifith, and the minor characters need to be pushed a side for a while.
