Hah, I wonder if Miura isn't really playing with us. "This journey will end soon" - the ship's journey, the journey to Elf land, the journey to recover Casca's mind, or the main quest? Imagine Berserk ending...feels impossibiru.
I'm hoping it's just the journey to the elf island. It wouldn't make sense if the whole thing ended soon, unless something was skipped, what with them being so far away from the mainland now.
Saying that, a new possibility has opened with the idea of beings using the Od as a means of transport, in this case the child. I wonder if it really is the Elf kings avatar, I'd be surprised after thinking it was Guts's and Casca's child all this time. It still wouldn't explain Casca's reaction to him, so I still think that this is the case and that Schierke is mistaken.
On top of that, we have the hell hound haunting Guts out of his berserker armour once again. That thing must be related to the apostles, and possibly even be Guts's apostle form. My own speculation, anyway. Guts is going a little nutty, has quietened down quite a lot and seems very melancholic most of the time, almost lost compared to what he was.
And on top of that, the chapter felt so much more like a Berserk chapter. It reminded me of the style of things back in the Golden Age. The art style was very nice, but it wasn't really different, the lines seemed finer I guess.
