So it was Fukubei who became Sakakiyo's friend back at that base. It's nice that the scene which was told from Fukubei's perspective back in the early volumes (at the classmates' meeting before the timeskip) is finally told from Sadakiyo's POV. And that dialogue at the rooftop before Fukube's death makes more sense now. Although it's still strange to assume that Fukubei is indeed "Friend", things just don't add up.

                so Sadakiyo knows Friend for nearly 40 years but now he decided to walk his own path & not follow Friend anymore, such a great accomplishment for Sadakiyo.

Okay I am once again locked in.

Ok so its clear friend has to be fukubei at this point because they literally said that fukubei was his only friend. I had a feeling it was fukubei because he was the only person from that group that was a possibility. Sadakiyo was too obvious and the others just couldn’t be.

Fukubei is definitely friend.  In his flashback he was wearing a black shirt with white shorts. He is definitely friend. Lmao I still wonder what his motivation is for all of this mayhem

I'm glad I stuck it out reading this manga. In the beginning, I couldn't get into the characters or the art style, but the story is getting deep and the suspense is monumental. Can't wait to read the next chapter.

Amazing chapter, Sadakiyo's past revealed, thanks to Fukubei by not leaving Sada alone as everyone did.

I'm still concerned about Sada's face in Koizumi vr, if he really not Friend, why does his face appear to be Friend face in the vr world, was it arranged by Friend or is it just a story Sada made up, I'm not even sure at this point...

But also when they were in that virtual reality thing they said that the person w/ Sadakiyo was friend, and Fukubei was Sadakiyo's friend so it makes sense that it was him ...)



I really wonder if Fukubei is friend, and if so how he lived (they never did confirm his death)

that'd be a strange twist.



anyway, this chapter confirmed for me that sadakiyo's a victim in all of this. "friend" preyed on his loneliness and made him his lackey :(
