Well when someone critiques your lifestyle you tend to get defensive :p.



I wonder what Maruko's deal is? I'm guessing it's guilt. Since robots need less nutrients to survive living is a lot easier compared to their human counterparts. And since this is kind of a slow apocalypse setting I'd imagine living is getting a lot harder for humans.

So she was angry that Alpha seems to have it so easy.



It's interesting how so much of the setting is left behind the scenes, only hinted at here and there. Everything seems so peaceful and yet hear and there you get a hint of the slow death of civilisation.

I did not understand Alpha's argument in her defense. She just repeated Maruko's words and said she does not need to worry all that much about it.

It probably is guilt but given Maruko's personality so far, it could be anything.

Alpha should have slapped that little bitch and be done with it. She's clearly jealous with the relationship between Kokone and Alpha and being a bitch about it. Seriously, I don't any drama in this soothing manga.

I think she just had a hard time responding due to not being involved with many rude people, as maruko said herself, shes surrouded mostly by nice elderly folk who mostly look out for her,



But Alpha did stand up for herself, and let her know that she genuinely does care about her customers and being friends with them, its not a pretend face for cash, she literally enjoys their company,



And while there may not be many, she may not be rich and she may not be advertising as much as she should,

She still ok with a slower paced life, and just taking it day by day,



Kind of like a ma and pa shop where sometimes they even let their customers slide on a few dimes or nickels, hell some are so nice they'll ya an actual few bucks off the bill if you don't have it depending how much you're buying anyways, - if its 100$ it cost them 60-70 to buy, they might let you have it for 90 and loose 10$ - and they're ok with that, because they are not looking to be the next Walmart or big corp business, - they like their life, their customers, and being kind day to day and that's enough for them,



More or less, that was the motive i got from it and as for maruko, well she was just a jealous biatch for a bit and picking on alpha cause she loves kokone and most of what she talks about is alpha, let alone kokone visited alpha 4 times in a year while she was away for that year, and not once was she there, but she kept going back, so maruko is probably hyper jealous lol
