Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Chapter 7 Discussion

The guns are the implication that the rest of the world isn't exactly idyllic. When climate change gets worse and resources dwindle, people get desperate, nations get violent, but that is not the focus of this manga. The guns however are a powerful symbol that evoke violence. I'm not entirely sure it was worth including them in the manga, as it is quite jarring, but still, it's a practical thing for people in that era to have around. The fact that the story is set in Japan adds another dimension to it all, as guns aren't exactly common over there, but it further emphasises how climate change has impacted everyones way of life drastically.

I always found YKK's popularity very strange, but I do remember being pretty excited at the conclusion of the first volume.  Who is this owner?  What's in the package?  



Was the first volume just a set-up for a really exciting adventure later on?  This might be good...



But no, the first volume is an accurate representation of the entire work.

Interestingly the other, I guess, robot girl was also carrying a gun.

I wasn't expecting anything very exciting when I started to read this so I won't be disappointed. I know it's a slice of life so it's not like I'm reading it for the amazing story.



It looks really out of place when Alpha walks around with a gun. Haha.

I was not dissapointed a bit! Why should I?

                Oh at first I wondered why Alpha had short hair, though she was very cute in a hat. So another robogirl appeared! I'm diying of curiosity, what is in the box and who is that mysterious "Owner".
