Kubo efficiently killed all fight related tension by ensuring us that as long as a bad guy wont show us his final power-up the duel is not over. So i can bet that virtually NO ONE thought this is it for Thor with last week pathetic cliffhanger. We could hope, but no.

As for ass pull for Hitsugaya - I would refer only to his appearance. Someone on this forum reminded me that Hitsu said something about achieving "true form" of his bankai. But his bishonen mode is a wtf - where does THIS come from???

This is a stretch, but I have two theories regarding that, both are kinda shitty and one is likelier than the other.

1. When Mayuri drugged him in his chamber he lost "years " of his lifespan, so that could be the reasoning behind that, but that also would indicate that he achieved a power up through Mayuri drugging him. Which granted it´s Mayuri I buy anything this guy does by now.

2. His age is a sort of fighting mode/permanent enhancement that is linked to the maturity of his Zanpakuto. Meaning that because the sword is his soul kinda and because the sword matured he matured with it.

I think one is likelier although it still is confusing in the sense off. Why wasn´t he turned immediately older when he got out of the healing pot?

Is this the reason Kenpachi achieved Bankai.

How the fuck do those things work?

Was Urahara somehow involved in their creation?

Of course when he loses all of his ice petal that means that he gets stronger, of course.

So Kenpachi can't even whistand his own power, wtf he has no limits !

Again, there's no final form - as long as he is not crushed in an instant, Miracle guy would keep coming back from "nearly dying".

Yes, I know. My point was that we as readers can clearly see when the fight is over. And Thor didn't use his most powerful strike or sth like that - which is indication of the end of the Bleach villain(especially in this adventure). There was no way the fight was over and everyone knew that.

As for Hitsugaya - we literally had precedent for that with Nel. They are souls. The way they look or their growth is not limited to biology.

Yes, and Kubo is messing with the aspect of Bleach that strongly needs an explanation(aging of the souls).

I actually liked the new look of Zaraki and Komamura. But this(bish mode) is so out of place I don't think there can be an explanation which'll make me buy this.

BTW> it reminds me of the Power Ranger boy who suddenly grow up to match his sentai equivalent footage. I hated that when I was a kid.

@Isterio - We'll hopefully learn some moreabout Hitsu  next week(HOPEFULLY - we still don't know what Zaraki's bankai is exactly). Right now this reveal that was supposed to be epic was left me with this expression:  x/

Hitsugaya finally reaches puberty lmao. Him making height jokes makes much more sense now

For some odd reason, I could see him smirking at a probably shorter Byakuya.

Seems like Kubo has been reading too many fan-fictions lately.

I'm so sick of Hitsugaya and Kenpachi in this manga.

I still don't understand what Yachiru is...

A Zanpakuto that carries another Zanpakuto?

I was really hoping for more from Kenpachi, but looks like we're back to Hitsugaya now. Ugh.
