Bleach Chapter 640 Discussion

What left arm of soul king said something interesting... And he's teaching that lady to not act without his order.  It feels like she's trapped in a cage of that weird shinigami.

Nanagou apparently means 75. That means this could be the 75th Nemu clone. This could be hinting at Mayuri's backstory:



-his daughter died

-he tries his best to revive her but keeps failing

-these failures result in his drastic change in personality, becoming who he is today

-then the central 46 locked him into the Maggot's Nest



His Zanpaktou being themed after a drowned baby is symbolic of how he failed to save his daughter's life.



Now, the significance of Mayuri's quote: "Do you know how difficult it would be to raise the 'next you'..." He was unsuccessful at making a creation that had a will of its own, and now he was finally successful. His daughter was finally reborn, or at least that's my own take on it lol. If Nemu were to die again, Mayuri would most likely be back to square one (being unable to create something that has a will of its own). Imagine that, the limits of Mayuri's technology.



Speak shit about Bleach all you want, but any scene with Mayuri involved is badass. It would be an absolute shame if he were to die now.

Nemuri Nanagou....I sense backstory incoming....and I'm very interested in reading it. :D



Kubo's fondness for Mayuri has really shown through this whole fight. It's been much more fun to read than most of recent Bleach. And I find myself oddly touched by Mayuri and Nemu's interactions. This is the closest we're gonna get to see Mayuri showing concern over her, that he does care about her...in his own twisted way. :D

And the prize as father of the years goes toooo….
