last couple of chapters have been really a slap to the face. and bleach fights havent been ''bleach fights'' ever since the final arc started.
the entire power hierarchy which was built so well in previous arcs was totally ignored in this one. the quincy are all strong. granted. but just how strong? when a particular sternritter shows up, do we feel excited or is that just cannon fodder? we do not know.
earlier when a captain would step in a fight or when an espada revealed his rank, we knew definitely where in the power scaling of bleach universe they lay.
but the characters presented here are not whom we care about. the ones who we have seen grow in power and after time leaps have been killed off pretty easily without having any kickass fights.
and recently the powers of Juha Bach and Ichibei arent completely understandable. if we cannot understand that, how are we supposed be psyched about upcoming fights and the future of this war?
in response to all that, i feel that bleach has always been a 'mass manga'. solitary chapters are always slow. new revelations are always undigestable. same happened when Aizen went into continuous evolutions with the Hougyouku and almost solo-ed the Gotei 13.
but in retrospect, it makes sense. he was just that strong. and his shikai is OP only when he had prepped it. it has a major weakness. it cannot be used to fight a person you've just met. it was only because he had the gotei 13 trapped in his plan for such a long time that he was able to solo them all.
so despite all the sloppy spree of chapters that have been coming along, i think once the arc ends, and we go through it all, it will all make sense.
Juha had planned this invasion much like Aizen. his ability, Almighty, lets say renders him immune to powers of everyone his eyes can ''see through''.
which if why he was confident he could take down the gotei 13 and zero division.
at the same time he knew of those his ability would not be able to counter. those were the ''war potential'' and perhaps those who could kill him. those whose capability of power growth is not something his ability, Almighty, can see through. in short, those with limitless potential.
so overpowered as it may seem at the moment, but on a grander scale of things, if we accept his ability as "immunity to all those whose powers he can see through", then it makes sense. there was a limit to Ichibei's powers and hence Almighty was applicable. being in the zero division, away from war for so long, it isnt a long shot to assume Ichibei, despite being extremely strong otherwise, had stunted in his growth and hence he went down to Juha.
Also, like aizen's shikai, Almighty had a major weakness. it had 9 yrs activation time. it was because the shinigami were unaware of quincy or they ignored them for too long that Juha was able to be the monster he is now. had the Gotei 13 known/acted earlier, the captains would've been enough to take him down.
