Glad to see whatever random issue was causing two different chapter discussions threads being merged sorted itself out. The Renji/Ichigo fight was okay, the flashback interludes worked well enough, though it didn't make the fight particularly exciting. I like the concept of the big attacks only hitting in a row a certain amount and the revovler/missile comparison. The resolve one was just generic shonen, but Ichigo's resolve to kill Renji was cool at least, and the Renji/Rukia flashback was certainly the strongest, I liked the paneling revealing the gravesites of their friends (which is weird to think about logistically in the spirit world or whatever).
This chapter here however was mostly good for displaying the differences in the captains and the conflicting nature of the innerworkings of the Soul Society. For the former, all their sudden appearances function to further elevate how far above in power level they are from the rest of the Soul Society, but it's their actions that are more interesting. Byakuya's blunt coldness, Gin's kind words, and Toshiro's words of warning about Gin himself. Ultimately, probably the strongest element of the arc.
