Mahou Sensei Negima! Chapter 1 Discussion

                        an okay chapter. The story was very predictable at some parts...

and so, once more i begin the manga that is Negima.



I had started this manga about an year or so ago but stopped reading it after about three chapters in when it didn't seem to catch my interest. This time, however, i'm fully prepared to sit through the early chapters and find out just why is this manga so goddamn popular.

I've had Negima on my list for a few years now, but I've always held back because the MC is simply 10 years old and I didn't think I'd like it. But well, today I got up and thought why not. Pretty basic first chapter, some unnecessary ecchi scenes that didn't really fit well into the chapter and I didn't understand the blackboard eraser prank, apparently Negi used magic and Asuna somehow recognized it, but honestly I didn't recognize anything, kinda looked like the blackboard eraser fell on his head like normal?



I understand the idea behind it with a young guy starting out as a teacher in a girls school and on top of that a mage etc. but why make the MC 10 years old? That's something I'll never understand, but what ever.
