I loved how Rakan described himself as invinsible before that that it was too much for him

so I guess others hope for the same thing as me :). Now all thats left is to see if Negi will go for it or not.

It would be interesting though is somehow he managed to force darkness only in his left hand and light in the right. Then he could pull off some sick combos XD. Dark Sword light magic wand...etc.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to have Negi combine Light and Dark.  Being the son of the Thousand Master, simply imitating him and excelling in Light or staying a disciple of Evangeline isn't enough.  Innovating a new technique that combines the two, however... ;)

The dark magic was awesome, Rakan blowing himself up was so funny! Negi should definitely learning Dark instead of light

so that was what using those dark techniques would be like, pretty good, but it has a down side (in rankan case, rofl side)

lol Yeah, indecisiveness is in his character :P

I'd like to believe that he manages to learn both in order to fight on equal grounds with both light and dark people, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

I liked finally seeing at least a fragment of what Negi is supposedly learning.  And of course the Chiu fan service was nothing to complain about~

Assuming Negi goes with "the dark side", it'll be interesting to see how it affects his personality and relationships with his students/friends.  Perhaps even if he gets all emo from the dark magic, he'll always have Asuna to smack him back to himself. :p

On a related long-term prediction of mine, I get the feeling that even with this dark training it might not be enough for Negi to beat Fate.  It wouldn't surprise me if Negi keeps using this dark power more and more during the fight to the point where it's becoming very self-destructive, only to have Asuna jump in, knock some sense into him, and show off her new skills (which I'm sure she'll have by that point).  But then, there might end up being a whole different plot regarding Asuna's memories, so who knows?  I guess we'll just have to wait.

I'm actually wondering if he'll try and combine Light and Dark. Or somehow do that as a last "idiotic" resort in the middle of a final battle with Fate.

If he does go all dark, I want to see him go into overdrive again and completely lose himself for the battle. Just to make some drama between him and his students, if they're watching and horrified by his new power.

I must say, the idea of combining light and dark is pretty cool and would actually make Asuna a very appropriate partner, considering her major power works via a combination as well: magic and ki.  It'd really fit Negi's character too, since he doesn't seem to be "idiotic" enough to be totally carefree and light, but also isn't solely obsessed with power and darkness.

I don't want to get my expectations up and be disappointed, but it seems like this *may* be the direction he's headed.  Rakan basically just told him that he has to choose one or the other, but I seem to remember several times in the past where Negi faced a choice and he managed to find a middle ground or some other solution. Other characters have had similar dilemmas as well, such as Setsuna and her Evangeline "happiness or the sword" thing.

It wouldn't surprise me if he does go "overdrive" again though.  That'd also be an apt time for Asuna to smack him around. :p

THIS IS AN MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

                ----------------------------------------

Nothing really happened other than the fact that Negi can't decide whether to go with Dark or Light magic. Personally I prefer him with Dark magic like Eva.

Lmao at Rakan. How stupid can he be.
