Ah, so it was just "kiss & done". *sigh* what I get for giving this series the benefit of the doubt I guess, these chapters were kinda worthless even it doesn't strike your funny bone & like a lot of the humor in the manga, it didn't work for me. I don't like coming in here & just bashing the manga but a lot of it just disappoints me & honestly, I really don't understand two key principles of the Asuna/Negi kiss.
I. That Freudian Slip, "you'll have to kiss me first", was a bit unbelievable in my opinion. That's not even clever, at least translated into English. I don't know if the kanji for Kiss & defeat are close to each-other & it's actually clever word-play but here it's just an excuse for a joke & a kiss sequence for Asuna & Negi.
II. Why did just kissing Asuna end the spell? Shouldn't he have had to kiss Nodoka too. She still commanded him to do so & Asuna's command didn't exclude him from kissing Nodoka, it just means he'd have to kiss Asuna before Nodoka. I figure it's because Nodoka/Negi is the end-game couple, as it's certainly the only one with development towards such & they wanted their kiss to be more romantic than forced at the end. Which is fine, I guess. For what it's worth, I did enjoy the second half of the chapter with Nodoka showing some growth.
Asuna has anti-magic abilities don't forget. Also it problably depended on WHERE the kiss took place.
