Akira's mental strength and spirit has diminished since he found out Hikaru wasn't quite what he thought and now that's affecting his game according to Ogata sensei. Ogata takes Akira to the Go association to show him that Hikaru has become an insei. Akira is somewhat irritated to see that Ogata took him there and mentioned that Hikaru is going after Akira now. That helps Akira regain that mental strength he was starting to lose since seeing Hikaru along with Ogata's words bothered him and gave him the resolve to not let Hikaru catch up to him.
