i see how yumi is struggling keeping both desires of hikaru in the story, but eventually hikaru cannot ignore his desire to chase akira to stay in club, that plotline had been introduced much earlier than the club one.

Leave it Tetsuo to stir up the pot, but his encouragement is actually good here and he's helping Hikaru reaffirm his aspirations and leave the Go club on a positive note since Yuki is taking it hard and everyone is surprised by the sudden turn of events commencing. Hikaru is playing three games at once, which is challenging himself while also fulfilling the requirements needed to register for the insei test. Nice way to kill two birds with one stone.. or 3 boards with multiple stones. And no Sai in this chapter! That's surprising. I thought maybe he'd be there for Hikaru, but this is also a situation in which the Go club is the main focus of the chapter and the mangaka wanted to make that point.
