Death Note Chapter 107 Discussion

I actually didn't know what to expect from this chapter.

I must admit I felt kinda bad for Light in the end, because although what he was doing was wrong he initially had good intentions starting out, and I truly believe he just wanted to help humankind in his own twisted way.

Obviously things got out of hand, and what happened, happened, but overall it was not dissapointing.

I just wish L was the one to bring him to justice :(

L is the one who found out about the shinigami. He made it easier for Mello and Near to bring an end to Kira.

I was expecting Ryuk's handwriting to be the same as the "How to Use It" rule writing style... seeing as to how he wrote both of them.

Ryuk's monologue was great. Bye Kira!

I loved Light's death in the manga. Ryuk writing his name because he can see that he's cornered, bleeding and lost, and because he doesn't want to wait for him to die in prison (much in character for him lol). I think his death was very well done. It was pathetic, but in a way that we got to see that not even Light is prepared to die, and is afraid. That behind that psycopathic mass murderer of a monster that was Kira... There was an actual human, scared of death, like everyone else.

I've only watched and rewatched the anime, and always found Light to be kind of a robot and a psychopath. But the manga made me actually feel pity for him. When you take everything that makes Light something akin to a God, you get a broken human being. I like it.

This one will definitely be ingrained in my memory forever..Sweet_Escape said:
Light's death was perfect here imo, but the anime completely ruined that by giving him a peaceful death in the anime instead of the humiliating death he got here. Seeing Light beg Ryuk to help him was great and it rankles me that so many Death Note fans who only watched the anime missed out on this.i dunno about the points you have made, but, in the anime he had at least some time of remorse and regrets, the manga didn't let those emotions much place. in that sense the anime is bteer
