Death Note Chapter 23 Discussion

Unnerving chapter! There's a sense of powerlessness that extends to readers and it's done so brilliantly.



L is backed into a corner between unfolding events and how to proceed them. With the added tension of the investigative team looking to him for answers he doesn't quite have at the moment. A disarray of emotions, with L trying to regain assurances. Was L trembling out of uncertainty or anger? What do you all think?



This was my favorite chapter so far, the buildup is nearly perfect.

I feel the same way. Maybe it's because I've grown to enjoy reading manga more than watching anime within the last year, but I feel like the mistery and suspense it's actually better in the manga, due to the fact that you keep anticipating what'll happen in the next page or panel. It's great.

                        It gets better every chapter!

Awesome chapter.  I am really curious to see what happens next.  This was definitely a nail biter and it is suspenseful.  I am really curious to see if the other shinigami was somehow involved in this.
