Honestly, the only reason this manga isn't above a 9 is because of these slow releases. The main complaint I thought I had after reading this chapter was that it was too confusing and made no sense, but, upon rereading, I realized that this series is actually excellently paced—it just suffers hard from its release schedule.

Overall 10/10 chapter, amazing art, pretty good dialogue, surprising dark themes. Can't wait for the next one.

Yeah, after 3 months, I pretty much forget what happened but as read it, things to flood in and I understand. At least, those 3 months pay off since the quality stays the same which is the reason (and her health) for doing a tri-monthly release. After this ends, any person who reads it from start to end is in for a ride, it really has been a great ride so far.

Really looking forward the end of this arc to see how the Noah's history next and the origin of innocence. Possibly see God itself since that is a mysterious figure which plans we don't know much of.

Does anybody understand what is going on anymore? I thought the earl is mana

The Earl is an entity trying to possess Mana in this flashback, he once did and it's trying again, and as of the present time (when most of D.Gray-Man is unfold) we know he succeeded. What is interesting now is to know how, when both Cross and Apocryphos (this dumbass probably doing the contrary) are targeting it.

Another thing you need to know is that the Millenium Earl is Adam, and like other Noahs, it acts like an extreme personnality disorder. You can see it as Venom, but it's both physical/material (or that's only due to its reaction to Allen's Innocence and they can't be separated otherway) and mental/non-material, and as for Allen with the 14th, Mana has crysis periods where the Earl manifests itself/take over. He seems to be conscious of it and he's struggling against the Earl's spirit.

Can't reveal you all of D.Gray-Man's mysteries, it gets solved little by little. That's how you need to process it, it takes a little bit of imagination and thinking. 'Ok I've got this info, it happened like that, so what can I take from it and what can I exclude?'

Allen's memories having been alterned too, PROBABLY, if you only rely on the manga's (Allen's) beginning knowledge, it probably won't be enough to understand what is happening.

(I mean that's the whole purpose of this flashback... Other manga don't necessary go that deep, for this amount of time irl, but DGM does because it can't be done otherwise.)

even though I have no idea what is going on, it is always a pleasure to see Cross

thank you Hoshino-sensei for my alltime favourite character, Cross Marian

So.. Because mana was affected so bad by innocence, the millennium earl darkness came out but it not being sentient shows its not fully mana. Now we need to wonder why Allen doesn't remember this

Amazing chapter, these are the chapters that makes the wait worth it.

I think it's been years since the story really progressed and retaking Allen's past in this way didn't make it more interesting, but the art of this chapter has been the most impressive and beautiful including the fight sequence and the order of panels, It's visually enjoyable but I think the story has taken a long turn that doesn't end up advancing or being completed. Making use of the resource called "Cross Marian", never fails but the story is still stuck.  :'(

Red regain conscious but suit Earl appeared with a bunch of level 1 Akuma (the nostalgia of the creepy look).

The terror and annihilation of those circus trope was well done and bastard Cosmo got what he deserved.

Cross showed up in the end facing suit Earl.

Another gorgeous chapter delivered.

Good ol' level 1 akumas AND a Cross appearence? This chapter was worth the wait, and I know everyone complains about the release time but, at this point, I feel like anytime something major happens in my life, I go on ahead and deal witrh it carrying the confidence that, when I'm done with it, a new chapter has been released or is about to. I started reading this manga at the very first steps in my college education and now I'm here, working, happy, and STILL enjoying this series. Idk, it's a plus to me somehow.

The way I see it, just like all other noahs mana also has 2 sides of him (personalities). One is Mana and the other is the earl.
