D.Gray-man Chapter 209 Discussion

I will say Johnny isn't my favorite character, but come on. This story would get pretty old if it just focused on the four main characters all the time. Johnny is a good and decent character. The fact that Hoshino is taking the time and effort to evolve her side characters is great--since not many will usually do that. (I would like to see more of the others, like Miranda, Timothy, Marie, et cetera--they deserve some love too! I want to see Lenalee in action too, fighting and stuff--we really haven't seen her solidly fight since the attack on old HQ with the level 4.) I think Hoshino is holding back with Lavi at the moment because she's planning something big for him; just like she's doing with Allen. These things can't be rushed or else it would make for one quick boring story.



I would say that I feel nostaglic in wishing to see her old drawing style again but I love her new drawing style as well. Someone said it's starting to look more like a shojo rather than a shonen because of her new art style--which I do agree with. But I'm not complaining. I hope next month's chapter is a little longer.

...but I still believe that Lavi is the Heart.

stop whining. Be happy she didn't drop series altogether, that'd completely suck.

Chapter really short this time, I thought there'll be at least 21 pages.

Too much Johnny focus since DGM in monthly chapters. Hope he has some special thing(not the "Heart" please, let it be someone else that I cannot guess plus awesome). Even so, I think it's awesome chapter as this shows that Allen truely has a friend that sill side with him.

I laugh immediately when Kanda appear till the end of the chapter. And YEAH, KANDA SEXY EVIL SMILE!!!xD

The art is really awesome, like its the same b4 DGM goes monthly IMO.

Correction: she dropped in quantity. This was actually a quality chapter. The art was amazing for Hoshino's standards.



Hoshino's short chapters are usually a lot better than her longer chapters. She has more experience doing them. They aren't drawn out, and they get to the point.



I still don't think she's gotten used to doing long chapters yet, so that's why they feel so iffy. I wish she would go back to doing them weekly, or at least biweekly.



I'll be satisfy if DGM can go biweekly every month.
