The grasses are very honourable but a tricky bunch , I did not expect a mere sword sharpener eveb if sent by Retsudo himself to do something as that but it seems that anyone can be a disguised grass.

The holes part was really smart, this manga has a really weird way to deliver feels, everyone crying after the young grass was killed was touching.

The youngest of the Grass dies. I wonder why they sent him out to pull the sword.

                        The battle between Itto and Retsudō has officially resumed. The Yagyu grass come to pass that message on to Itto and even challenge him. Itto kills their youngest, but he honors him and everyone sheds a tear, so they accept Itto's kindness and leave him be.  Later on Itto is digging holes and having Diagoro jump into them to see if he fits. Knowing they'll try to come after Diagoro, Itto prepares these holes for him to jump into and hide or to be able to jump in to dodge attacks and give Itto time to kill the enemy that go after Diagoro.

After their preparations, a sword polisher comes on Retsudō's order to sharpen and polish Itto's sword. After he finishes, he makes an attempt to kill Diagoro, but Diagoro is prepared and dodges the attack by jumping in to a hole, which gave Itto enough time to run over and kill the man, who ended up being a kusa in the end.
