Geez. I feel this manga's gonna end in a few more chapters, and honestly I'm glad. It's coming to a good conclusion. Slowly but surely. Five more chapters of fighting, then three for conclusion? No matter what I know I'll enjoy it. <3 I love FMA. Too much.

Man, I really have to admit, Scar was definitely pretty badass this chapter.  The power of reconstruction totally caught me off guard.  It looks like he finally has accepted his brother's research into himself, whether or better or worse.Scar's reconstruction tattoo -would- have caught me off guard, if not for the fact that I accidentally spoiled myself about it this afternoon by wandering into a discussion thread on the chapter...  Still, it was pretty epic seeing it play out.I also would have caught me off guard if not for the fact that he had an arm for reconstruction too in the original anime (I know, there isn't any connection between the first anime and this, but still), thus it wasn't really unexpected, at least for me. Though It was a nice surprise anyway : p

all right, it was probably dr.marcoh who added that on for him, so now scar can both destroy and create, awesome! but i wonder what the ishvalans were doing? Most likely setting up the counter transmutation circle (using the purification arts) discovered by Mei on the other side of Scar's brother's research notes.  (back in chapter 77)But didn't Scar say something about his brother putting the reconstruction tatoo on him as well? He just hadn't been able to figure out how to use it until now (and he didn't have the imagination to make it work ^^)... At least that's what I thought when reading this chapter...

But by all means, if someone's absolutely sure that I'm wrong, do correct me please : p I would hate to be wrong without knowing it ^^;

Hope they will defeat Selim easily, because he was always like a pain in the ass :P

May was funny trying to attack the former "guy from the flask"

And I still feel sorry for Ray, til the moment he lost his sight I was always sceptical about him, but now he won't be the same Ray anymore... ;(

why are you calling roy, ray? lol

A very sweet chapter. Kind Bradly and Scar are both very badass!

I'm still hoping for Mustang to save the day...

Something just occurred to me. The basic process of alchemy is [knowledge > destruction > reconstruction]. In the scene where we saw him use his recreation arm he never used his right to first destroy.

Does his left arm destroy and recreates straight away? What's the point of his right arm then? Did Arakawa finally screw up?

I interpreted it in this way: Scar's right arm destroys, no problem there. But I'm guessing maybe his left arm can "recreate" without having to first destroy (in fact, *without being able to destroy*), essentially meaning either A) it works more like manipulation rather than destruction THEN recreation, or B) it can create something from nothing, like a philosopher's stone.

The way I see it even if I'm wrong with what I said above, is that each arm can perform its own function WITHOUT the need to be a part of the alchemy process as a whole. Destruction just means destroying, and recreation just means recreating, but without having to first destroy, bypassing the need for materials, or just using whatever is around but "transforming it" without "breaking it down" before doing so.

The argument can be made such that the author didn't screw up at all. Easily. We'll see how she explains it herself eventually though.

Or maybe, in case of the reconstruction arm:

1) Since his other arm has the destruction tattoo, his body acts as a complete Alchemical Circuit when he uses his "Reconstruction Arm".

or

2) The difference between the two arms is that one can destroy an object by completely breaking it down, while the other can only make rearrangements or constructive modifications to objects.

I think Hoenhiem would have done something to modify the Transmutation circle already (He does mention a backup plan). Btw, Scar's brother never had the time or composure to put the reconstruction tattoo on him, he joined his arm to save Scar not to make Scar an Alchemist. Scar probably got the Reconstrucion Tattoo later (Maybe while deciphering the notes with Marcoh), but waited till now to use it as he finally figured out how it's done.
