Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 98 Discussion

The old dude is one of the doctors who performed the operation to turn King Bradley into a Homunculus.  He also showed up at Briggs to heal Kimbley after his first run in with Scar on the train.Sapta said:
wow, very good find.

Btw, this chapter didn't progress much. Wasn't up to the mark imho. Also I don't understand why Greed isn't converting fully into the ultimate shield so that bradley's swords become useless :/He had a moment to breathe in the Manga before he converted totally before Ed.  Since then nobody's given him the time to fully transform, though he's probably selectively hardening wherever Bradley strikes.

Besides, Greed doesn't like to take away from his good looks.

Bradley / Wrath has some of the best moments in the series, him hunting down Greed and his chimera friends is probably the series highlight for me.

Shit just always hits the fan whenever he appears.

I couldn't figure out who the guy at the end of the chapter was though.

Yeah, that's not one of the usual suspects. Does anyone have a clue?

GreedLing is definitely the best part of this chapter, since not too much happened. Felt more like a set-up chapter to me.

Hmm...the chapter was not what I expected it to be, but still really good nevertheless.  Finally get to see Ed, which was refreshing.  And man, you know that the Greed vs. Bradley fight in animated form will be nothing short of awesome.  And I definitely do not want to be at the wrong end of an evil glare fro Lt. Armstrong and Izumi.  Good luck living through that.  Lol.

Wrath has slashed Greed even when he had his full shield up. It actually makes more sense this way so he can still regenerate this way

When? I don't remember. In the previous fights iirc Wrath always slashed Greed's body parts that weren't transformed, i mean he is too fast to let Greed transform. Here however Greed had the time to transform before jumping into the fight.

1. Regeneration and hardening can't occur at the same time.

2. Wrath is capable of moving faster than Shield grows.

Thus it makes more sense to just put the shield to good use as weapon and retain the regenerative abilities, without risking of getting into the same situation as in previous fight.
