Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 1 Discussion

I have a weird relationship with this manga. I began reading it several years ago, but stopped after a few volumes. Three years ago I bought the entire series and started again reaching Volume 11 and dropped it because I didn’t liked it that much. Please don’t throw stones at me.

Since this manga is one of the most popular ever and has a stellar rating, there has to be something wrong with me, but maybe I just didn’t paid enough attention while reading it and never reached the end to give it a fair evaluation.

So I’m gonna start it all over again, and wont let distract myself with other readings, giving it the right attention it probably deserves and hopefully change my mind.

watched brotherhood before this.



i really like how it starts, has a lot of humor yet still feels really intense in how it deals with it's themes.

Mayne, re-reading this brings me back to the first time I read it when I was a library aide. This manga is a gold mine 'cause I had no idea at the time this is what would spark my love for anime/manga lol

Much prefer the Anime as of now, but let us see if the manga can grow on me.

I love how Edward transmutes the weapon out of the pavement :D And it's such a cool looking spear, too!

Pretty good first chapter I guess. Decided to read down the list of top manga on MAL so got to this series. Problem is I have seen random episodes of FMA / FMA:B but gonna start from the beginning.

I wonder what happend to Erlic brothers, I guess they or someone tried to do experiments on them that didn't end well.... I wanna know more about all this alchemist stuff and that Philosopher stone and ugh I hate that Father!

Already a masterpiece.
