Hunter x Hunter Chapter 366 Discussion

Damn is Chrollo getting ready for a Requiem 2.0 on board the ship?

When they said "ties are severed" I thought for a moment that he had quit the spiders, but that wouldn't make much sense ._.

Tserriednich turned out to be a beast at learning nen... I don't know if I like that (it's supposed to be a 1 in a million chance) but maybe he only learns nen to a point where he is able to control his nen beast. That way he'd be only as OP as his nen beast is, but he'd have an advantage over the other princes.

Maybe I'm talking bullshit, but there's any possibility that Chrollo doesn't know that Korutopi and Shalnark were killed by Hisoka? So he could be chasing Kurapika?

Because I don't remember if Hisoka's going to the Dark Continent, and Chrollo's intentions about the travel are not clear for me.

Two things tell me otherwise:

1. Chrollo confirmed his presence on DC before the two spiders were dead;

2. Machi received Hisoka's message, and her priority as a spider should be contact Chrollo and tell him.

Furthermore, maybe there's some details I'm ignoring that eliminate this theory. Anyway, I still think about it.

(Sorry about the english, it's not my native language)

Nice one, Chrollo could have jumped on the boat before knowing what happened to Sharlnak and Korutopi. Hisoka is not aware about the Dark Continent I think. There is many questions but the main one in my opinion is : Will we from now forget all about people who are not on the boat (Gon, Killua, other spiders, etc.) ?

Personal opinion : I think Togashi shouldn't waste his time with such useless characters on this arc... I mean, chara-design and charisme of some characters are just off, really. It was like Chimera Ants, only a few of them were interesting.

I understand, but creating a bunch of characters that probably will disappear as soon as the arc is over seems to be a rule in HxH. It can be a good thing, permitting new situations and decreasing the protagonism. But the bad thing is that Togashi often forget the interesting characters, simply doesn't explore their potential.

That said, I still have great expectations for this arc. I think that long-term, Gon, Killua and maybe other older characters will get involved in this whole thing. I'm curious to see Leorio's development, since he's been the least proeminent between the four main.

Chrollo's last line on the final page of the chapter:

"Ties...are not forgotten...They're severed."

Is Togashi hinting that Hisoka has killed all the other spiders?

I don't think so... I can't imagine Hisoka killing the other members. Sharnalk and Korutopi were harmless when he killed them plus, the other members are more powerful (Feitan, Phinks etc.), they wouldn't be killed so easily.

The question is, why Chrollo seems alone on the boat ? Why he isn't looking for Hisoka ?

By the way, how the prince did manage to learn to use nen so quickly ?  Togashi isn't rushing too much the manga ?

He probably boarded it before the others, waiting for them to show up. And maybe he hasn't got in touch with the other spiders yet and is only aware of Kurtopi and Shalnark's death, seeing how he was holding their abilities and they would disappear from the book after the death of the user.

Also, there are people who can use Nen without noticing because they are naturally geniuses, just like Neon, who even had a hatsu.

Screw the 4th prince learning Nen so easily... smh

Chrollo has made an appearance on the ship!! And it appears he's heard about Kortopi and Shalnark.

Now that it's confirmed that Chrollo is there it will be interesting to see how things go. I doubt there won't be other spiders and I wonder if HIsoka will be as well. So many interesting elements in this arc, and who knows how it'll go with the princes."Note the number in the last page: "37564" reads "minagoroshi" (皆殺し) = massacre. Is Togashi hinting on something?"

This is from Reddit, idk how reliable

That sounds plausible.

Even without Chrollo, we suspected that things would get pretty messy pretty soon but now that his presence is added to the Princes, I do expect some bloodshed following the next chapters.

It's interesting that Chrollo seems to be a catalyst (metaphorically speaking due to the number)

Glad I hoped on here, the version of the chapter I initially read had pretty different wording at points, namely during Chrollo's scene. Instead of the severed line, Chrollo said "Troubles aren't something you forget, troubles are overcome" something along those lines. It'll be interesting to check with the Viz translations but it seems pretty clear to me that the above line is correct. They also translated Melody's line to be a little more confusing.

Anyway, the chapter proper was excellent. I just loved the structure, bouncing around the different rooms, allowing us to reacquaint ourselves with the players involved, and fleshing out a few of the in more interesting ways, or at the very least, reminding me that there's interest there. I didn't reread much and I'm sure we had more on Fugetsu and Kacho but the scene with the sadden Fugetsu looking at pictures of her twin definitely invested me in their story (Kacho's moment helped too). Tserriednich's Nen development is expected honestly, but I'm still eager to see how this ends up playing out, some I really enjoyed it. And of course, the structure lead us to the natural introduction of Chrollo back into the fold and that scene was just brilliant, especially the translated version above. I love how Chrollo was depicted here, the dark scratchy lines eclipsing his being perfectly translate the upcoming horror I'm sure to come, and the emotional state Chrollo's been left in after at least (though I doubt Togashi would kill more of the Phantom Troupe off screen, it's not unthinkable with him) Shalnark & Kortopi's deaths. The whole "You look ready to kill someone" probably wasn't necessary but I think it punctuates the scene more than underlines it.
