Hunter x Hunter Chapter 318 Discussion

A beautiful ending to an amazing arc. I love how complex the conflict with the chimera ants became.

What a retarded fucking arc. I can't even believe that it belongs to HxH. It contradicts so many things in HxH mood and style. Asspulls, powerups, unnecessary/pointless plot developments, focus on trivial characters, pseudo psychological bullshit, gay shit. While I loved the final 2 pages, this arc is just one huge ass disappointment. I'm so glad, I just read the manga and didn't continue my wait for the anime.



It's so fucking beyond me how can someone say this is better than the Yorknew arc in a non sarcastic way.



4.5/10 for the arc. What a waste of time..

I didn't felt sad or anything after reading this chapter. I don't feel any sympathy for Mereums death even though he was an awesome villain.

It was an awesome read because I planned on reading this like over 5 years ago but the art kinda drew me off but I'm glad I got over it.

I'm with the group that enjoyed the chimera ant arc, and I didn't hate this chapter as well. The first eight or so pages were effective in giving you the idea that the king did die, and I still think that if it wasn't for the hiatuses people wouldn't be so sure it was bad.



That said, I think it's worth noting that the Jyunni Shin are based on the chinese zodiac and not the western one.

Finally finished the Arc. Man that was long. The ending was pretty good and dramatic with the deaths of Komugi and Meruem. I wonder whether Palm still sees them after they die.



Anyways almost fully caught up. Next chapter is meeting with the Zodiacs. I wonder how Gon is doing?

While all those black pages were effective indeed, you have to admit that it was kinda ridiculous. After all the implications that the King and Komugi would die together, i felt that the space was a bit wasted. And yep, the Chimera Ant arc rocked!

Well at first when I read this chapter I was like, "Oh no, is Togashi getting lazy again(or sick)" but that was probably because I didn't feel too satisfied for waiting a week for a chapter like that, especially because there's no one piece this week so I wanted HxH to meet my fill for manga. Turns out it wasn't that bad, especially because of the introduction of the Jyuuni shin(that's what you guys are calling it. Guess i missed or forgot where he called them that). They'll probably be bad ass characters like the arrangers from bleach, or the 11 supernovas from one piece. Can't wait till next week and not to mention for the fricking ANIME that comes out sunday. I'm really excited for it as well as for the *one piece spoiler*  2 year time skip and Bakuman season two which the mangos are all in my top 5 at the moment. Anyways there's my rant.

And so my favorite arc of all time is over and god damn what an ending it was. Storytelling at it's absolute finest. Good luck beating this Togashi.
