                        Netero rigged a bomb inside himself O_O, what the ... but the explosion seems to have not been enough possibly is what I get from the last panel, looks like the kings tail with a butterfly for some reason =O well guess we have to wait till next week to see the result but I reckon the king more than likely is fine =/

Didn't see that one coming. Netero went with a BOOM, Mother-Brain style.

Really awesome chapter, with plenty of "HOLY SHI-"moments. I especially love how the expression of fear was drawn so well from the human and ant standpoint.











Ohh man I can't wait for the next chapter !! =)



Predictions:

Meryem is gravely injured from the blast. Eats Pufu & Youpi who readily offers themselves OM NOM NOM NOMmm, absorbing their nen to regenerate himself, as well as gaining their abilities. Then vows to exterminate the human race, now that Meryem has learned how to fear.

Am I the only one who was a bit disappointed in Netero's performance? He kept talking about how he missed being the underdog and such, but he didn't have any kind of strategy or plan by the looks of it. Neither of them seemed to employ any kind of tactics, Netero just kept hitting the king with everything he had, and then that wasn't enough. Then he detonated the nuke, and that still won't kill Meryem.



The look on Netero's face was priceless though. Concentrated badassness.

I don't want that bastard king to live on, but I guess he's not been beaten yet.

So the ant king takes a tactical nuke to the face?  Netero certainly wasn't playing around!  I'm filled with anticipation for the next chapter.  Though I don't doubt that Meryem is alive, he had to have taken SOME damage.

Nice to see one of the most memorable moments of the series in the manga: The Rose. Interesting how Youpi was the first one to react, whereas Pouf was at first two shocked to act.

Yea, I see the King being harmed but not dead. Now I'm worried for Gon and the others. Mainly Gon's fight with Pitou should be next.

I really liked the bomb thing. It was clear Netero couldn't have done much more. Also, it beats Netero evolving Sharingan and all the powers that come with it. It's a nice and unique twist.

Sure didn't see a bomb coming....bye bye Netero.



And the ants are pissed now.....

I can't remember a battle shounen where the humans are portrayed so badly. The look on Netero's face is a proof of that.



Chimera Ant's arc is a masterpiece, really ambitious. The narrative is awesome. You have the characters with their thoughts and impressions of the situation and the addition of an omniscient narrator clarifying the complexity of the invasion and emotions of all involved.



For me, the most well constructed arc on battle shounen. I can't imagine myself waiting for months to read one chapter. Well, guess I'm on the club now, since the manga stopped at 349 for a hiatus.
