So thus concludes the search for the Dragon Balls that all started this, as Guru finally died before Vegeta could get his final wish. I do like that conclusion, it's been heavily foreshadowed that Guru was soon for death, and it wouldn't have been good for Vegeta to get his wish for dramatic tension but we definitely needed our heroes to get there. I liked how it all worked out, and that our heroes won the Dragon Ball essentially because Frieza and Vegeta both made a mistake (sparing Dende and taking a nap). I also like the decision to bring Piccolo into the fray, being that it's on his own home planet, it would've felt wrong to exclude him from the on-going proceedings.
Frieza's arrival was great. With them having to look up at him, while he looks down below on them, simple but effective visual metaphor for the power gap between the two.
