The three wishes creates some tension here as Freezer approaches. Piccolo's idea of resurrecting him first is good, making the dragon balls on Earth usable. Piccolo's idea of sending him to Namek feels a bit weird. Since when does he care about his people? It feels hard to explain it in any other way than him being a fan favourite among the readers.
