Same, I love Gintama but I don't feel surprise at all these characters are alive. Just seems to be going for shock factor into cop-outs.
it's sad seeing that as well because of the gorilla never cared about stuff like that but the pressure from the fans and him being unable to think of an ending is ruining the series tbh, Gintama was always a 10 on my list but after this chapter it's now an 8 and i really hope he doesn't fuck up the ending more.

just because they didn't show a death scene doesn't make it ok to bring them back, a space ship exploded after hitting another ship and that one also exploded and now everyone is ok and no injuries? takasugi the one who was like 1 cm away from the explosion survived but the other people who were next to it didn't? how is that not just random bullshit.No shit, they didn't fall to there death's like the others did, Pirate ships are sturdy so it's reasonable to think that incoming debris is not enough to destroy it.
Anyway a ship in fire does not equals to a total ball of fire instantly.
Safety mechanisms are a given in our destroyers or aircraft carriers, much more in alien technology, and Matoko and Takasugi are injured but didn't die because like I said before they didn't fall to their deaths also...the tower didn't explode all in once.

To be honest , I was disappointing that Takechi senpai didn't die and Takasugi didn't die as well even though the fight scene was good . Sure nobody want Takasugi to die but Takechi live ?. But I was very ok with it because how Takechi survive was explained unlike some magic excuse manga . Also the Shogun death was too much for me and that what make me hoping that some characters will survive because Gintama has already have too much deaths but if Bansai survive I will rate the anime 8 . Really how could he survive . Lets hope Gintama end well unlike a certain one-shot power manga .
Where is Gintoki . Like is already 7 chapters since his last appear
At least there are some deaths in Gintama that made the sentiment of " big name manga didn't kill of characters " become lesser unlike a certain manga that friendship their way to victory *cough* Fairy Tail *cough*
