Honestly, it's painfully clear that Gorilla is dead, and Toshi is being haunted by the death of Kondou. Toshi chose not to save Gorilla's life because he understands his wish but he freed the other Shinsengumi members and told them to do whatever they want. Seeing Hijikata like that, not even Sougo could bring himself to do anything

Sorachi literally brought in the hard boiled guy and his sidekick who we haven't seen in a long time. Zura hasn't even showed up yet, this gorilla truly is the master of trolls

Guys I think that was not dream. Its a memory. Can't you see how Shinsengumi members move to other jobs and  stuff. Its clear sometime already passed. Or you are right it was a dream, and that would be really awesome ;_;
