That was emotionally devastating for me. That seriously left me feeling awful, in a good way. If Kazuo is a horrible invincible emotionless robot from the future(which if he gets Mitsuko treatment I'm sure he won't be for long), Mitsuko is the opposite. What a great portrayal of childhood abuse and its effects to an extreme. I can't help but feel for her.
When Yuichiro was bleeding out, and she had this wide array of emotions go through her, from wanting to save this soul which saw the good in her and wanted to help so much, that didn't even want to trust and take like everyone else did to her, but in the worst way possible by emulating all she knew how from what her father taught her about "loving and touching", to the emotions she had when he started to beat her and stopped "loving" her, and releasing those emotions by treating Yuichiro like her dad and bashing his face in well having sex with him, and that nightmare fuel imagery of the monster penis and the little doll, and the doll ripped up from her fathers beatings being the one on Yuichiro.... That was one of the most horrifying experiences I've read/seen and I love it.
I never once thought I would sympathize with Mitsuko's character before this volume. Everything about this was near perfect, and I have to agree with what someone else said in this thread, this was easily my favorite volume yet.
