Urusei Yatsura Chapter 13 Discussion

I love Lum's crazy gadgets. Last chapter she used a literal time-space machine (that malfunctioned probably for being on Earth) and now a voodoo doll.



What's interesting is that they didn't really have any malicious intentions with these gadgets/toys. It's only with input from Ataru the human that these gadgets get misused. Lum truly was the Doraemon in a tiger-strip bikini.



Another chapter with a lot of insanity. But I gotta say, I prefer the anime version a lot more. Not only did Ataru break in the window to greet Shinobu more properly, but his parents also took the dolls Lum made for the entire townsfolk and just went wild with them.



Definitely one of the more memorable episodes of the 1st season which was mostly forgettable compared to the later seasons. I liked how the OG anime usually took the basic concepts from the manga and made them even crazier. It's the type of creativity that's lacking in modern anime.

The colored version of the cover page is great. I think it's also kind of a famous UY artwork that people have already seen a few times but don't know where it's from.

Basically a voodoo doll episode, we saw some Shinobu taking a bath fanservice so that was good and I loved that Cherry got hit in the head, totally deserved.
