Urusei Yatsura Chapter 206 Discussion

I am so glad that this chapter is confirmed to be in the Remake!

Colored chapter. The last colored chapter was chapter 185 I think. So that took a while.



Oh, man. This is a legendary chapter.



I think it's the first time Ataru physically hit Lum. Sure, it was by accident but it was still pretty bad and could've easily been avoided.



Just the fact Ataru begs Lum to remember Japanese again just shows how much he loves her even if he normally doesn't like to admit it.




The anime adaptation of this chapter in episode 163 made the story way better IMO with all the original content of Ataru acting sleazy. It made the ending feel a lot more impactful. The episode also had references and cameos to other media.



Huh. It seems like I had some sort of misunderstanding. All this time since I watched this episode I thought Lum just had some sort of translator in her brain which broke after Ataru threw a rice cooker to her head.



But it seems like it only caused a temporary amnesia which probably affected the language/communication part of her brain.



I'll have to rewatch the episode to confirm it for sure.



Also, I know the Remake significantly toned down violence for reasons, I still really wish this chapter would get readapted.
