It's really scummy of Lum's dad to hold a courtship party without Lum's knowledge or consent. No wonder she was so excited to go. She thought it was a regular party. Otherwise, she never would've gone.



Also, I wonder if this takes place in Oniboshi, or did Lum's dad rent out an entire planet?



I just found out the reason those alien suitors of Lum have Japanese name tags on them is because those are the names of the people who designed those characters. Apparently Weekly Shonen Sunday held some sort of character drawing competition and Rumiko Takahashi herself chose the designs that would appear in this multi-part story. Awesome fun fact tbh.
