There was a lot going on this chapter.
Asmaria's adoptive evil satanist father's been using Asmaria as a way to bring his dead wife back, who was blown up in WW1 and whom was regenerated from her remaining finger to her former self but soulless with the help of demons contracted by him.
Asmaria is probably an angel, and being used to call the stream of life itself to return Melda's soul through receptors meant to target the stream into her and a device to use the memory of her to implant her soul back and bring her to life.
But Relaie targeted himself with receptors rather than Melda exposing that his plans this whole time has been to regain his strength and true form from the time in the past that Chrno nearly killed him.
We also learned that assumable all contracted demons use the soul/the very lifeforce of their contractor for their powers. We know this as a fact from Remington's line here, but we can also presume it to be the case with Asmaria's adoptive father because of his weak, crippled state and his constant talk about not having much time.
I really loved this reveal on page 5.
as well as the art of Asmaria screaming. I really do enjoy the page composition and character art when there isn't action going on, so I hope the action gets better too.
