Mushishi Chapter 10 Discussion

  • #2
I felt genuinely bad for that mother. She lost her first kid, abandoned and divorced, had another kid taken by a mushi, and then then subjected to an endless cycle of not knowing when she would have to kill her son's "copies."

Surprised to see Ginko give a fake crystal, but it's honorable considering the circumstances.

For an English science-fiction novel with a very similar premise, check out The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham.

Wow, didn't expect stuff to get that real. Kinda horrifying.

There's no such thing as harmony in Nature, only self-perseverance: these mushi are neither good nor bad yet they're harmful enough to warrant extermination

Wow that chapter was good! I remember it from the anime. And that ending...

So he gave him a fake something (a Crystal) to keep the spirit of the mother up and took what seems like a liquid with face for himself ...

Creepy, but I love how much empathy he always shows.
