so i decided to read the manga after several years, at one time i had said i wouldnt because i love the anime and i heard the manga had a different ending but i decided i would anyway. i dont understand all the people saying the anime sucked but the manga was good considering half the manga is covered at times almost shot for shot and line for line in the anime with extra things, small changes, and extended scenes like you expect from an anime. If you like one you should atleast somewhat like the other...

But anyway i still prefer the anime, the music box, the clock, the way lucy/kaede is more cold and cool and even a bit sadder in the anime is also better imo. Lucy's suggestion to nana to go live in the house that she cant made me bappy that their relationship ended on that note, and of course, the kiss that happens in the anime that never does in the manga made it a peaceful end between lucy and kouta. They both had those sort of unclear endings where you can assume about lucy/kaede but dont technically get an answer but i think i preferred the animes as opposed to the reincarnation.

Also i sortive liked kouta before and kurama but now i dont like either. Hated how they both acted like lucy was the only one who had done evil in the story. Kouta telling lucy that everyone has to deal with what she does was moronic, no you idiot not everyone has it in their DNA to kill people, also if you hadnt lied in the first place your sister and father would never had been killed, if anything it would've been yuka who he treated terribly anyway. And kurama who made an employee kill his daugther but couldnt kill his own which makes everything mariko did on him, basically killed his wife, and even with all his sad faces he still was part of the experiments torturing diclonius.

wasnt crazy about anyone besides lucy already, but the manga sortive made me hate all the other characters besides bandou, but i already kind of liked him anyway.

Love Lucy. Kaede <3

I enjoyed anime version more, or maybe it left bigger impact on me since back then I was just starting with manga & anime... well, it was a good read anyway.

Such a beautiful story. I finished it in 3 days and I was amazed. The ending feels a bit forced in trying to make things happy. But still, it's a great manga

I think the ending was a good one though, this is how it ended.Lucy and Nyuu were reincarnated(the facial expressions of the twins were a giveaway) and Lucy was named Kaede which was the same name as her previous life even though she was nicknamed Lucy by researchers and Nyuu by Kouta, this means that their parents must have known both of them before she died.

A reasonable explaination is that their parents were also once diclonius but were cured by the vaccine made by the 'savior of the world',maybe even the twins were also born as diclonii but were cured as well and diclonius have the special ability to remember their previous life, hence remember about Kouta.

In a second scenario(which i highly doubt)their parents could be normal humans infected by the vector virus and were the lucky ones to have Lucy(Kaede) and Nyuu as their daughters and with some ridiculous luck also named 1 of the twins Kaede.

I dont think Bandou returning alive was a bad thing, the whole story could be set years into the future and during that time they could make people into cyborgs? lol (He removes his bowels and reliefs himself by a drainage tube?)The agent was also not really dissapointing, that super big vector machine thing(forgot the name) might have killed the diclonius that were going to attack him with 1 of those gigantic hands. I wonder how Anna and that agent are going to survive at that facility though)

Ultimately Kaede(Lucy) and Nyuu are now having a much better life and judging from what they are wearing, their parent care about them and they are now human.

This is by far the best explaination i can think about,at first it will be hard for people like me to absorb that they were reincarnated and some people find it weird probably because not everyone believes in reincarnation.

This was just a crappy experience from beginning to end. It succeeded in making me horny like it intended (Also kind of pissed that we don't get single sex scene in this after all the baiting) but everything else was just bad. From the writing to the characters. 4/10.

I recommend looking up and reading the short manga "Soprano Dramatico" after the final chapter for more closure regarding Nozomi.

Hopefully this might clear up any confusion.

At the end you see kouta with his daughter nyuu. While visiting the stone he finds the letter from Lucy. In it contains her real name. So now he is able to know her true name and have a piece of their childhood back.

While there his daughter hears someone coming. She calls out to one of the twin friends. And calls her kaede. Which is Lucy/nyuu's real name. Either kouta or his daughter then asks what's wrong? I don't remember exactly what the speech bubble said. Then is the bubble where he realizes something. The twins say they have come to meet a friend. The very last 2 speech bubbles are from the twins. That's when kouta realizes its nyuu and Lucy reborn. Because he had said he wanted them both to come back home before they died to protect him. As for the theory that kaede is a third personality it's not so.  Lucy mentioned that the one he called nyuu would have been her true self if she didnt have horns. So the true girl is kaede. She is called nyuu by kouta because he doesn't know her real name. Lucy is the same girl but choosing to obey the instinct. The name given to her by the institution.

As for the ending when nana says it is neither nyuu or Lucy. It's possible it is the instinct itself making an appearance. Because it wills not to die and to destroy.

As for if the twins are diclonious. They may very well be. The ribbons seem to be hiding something. But it could also be the mangakas clue to the readers that they are Lucy and nyuu reborn.

As for bandou. Lucy beat him up pretty bad before. But he was able to get new eyes and a new hand. The second time they fought, he was left there because the police came. It could be he was taken to the hospital and given more artificial parts. Cause hey, he got some before too.

The poster could be the future Lucy's friend could have had. Or it could be that the girls mother had a new daughter who got into drawing too.

More likely it is kazukomi or however you spell her name. The one who would pee herself. It looks most like a poster promoting an opera of some sort.

As for nana and her papa. She mentions she could be his wife. Ironic because she was supposed to be sterile. Perhaps she's only stating something that's a wife's duty since he was aggrieved about Mariko. As for whether he calls her his daughter or his wife, I think the mangaka left that open for what the individual readers would've preferred their relationship to be.

Hope that clears up any confusions? These are all just my theories on what the symbolisms mean.

I wasn't very happy with it mean i was happy Lucy and Nyu were reincarnated

and everyone in the house is happy and junk but when bando showed up that

was a little much for me i mean come on the guys dead you don't magically become alive again like that. I thought they were about to kill them.  I mean, did you see that evil ass look on their faces.  It's my belief that they killed him and his daughter the moment he turned his head
