Claymore Chapter 88 Discussion

i thought it was going to be dumb with this new entry of an enemy but actually i like it.  it makes things way harder for the group.  these demons are ridiculous.

yes, besides having Priscilla-level regeneration, they are also extremely offensively powerful/dangerous too!

Isley (and ~Clare) are able to selectively Awaken their arms and then also change their Awakened arms into whatever weapon they want.

The Abyss Feeders/Eaters (AFs/AEs) seemingly are also able to do the same, but with any part of their body.... and not just their arms...

--------------------------------------------------------------------

they are conditioned/trained to only hunt/attack the flesh (in this case, Isley's) they were conditioned/trained to hunt/attack

HOWEVER, they *WILL* defend themselves and/or target any quick movements... as well

-----------------------------------------------------------

They will still attack Isley even if he doesn't move because they are trained/conditioned to attack/hunt him through his SMELL.

-----------------------------------------------------

the POWER/DEADLINESS of the AFs/AEs or "Demons" (as Dietrich calls them):

1. Priscilla-level regeneration

2. their numbers ("pack attack")

3. they do NOT emit/release any yoki to be sensed! ("Stealth attack")

4. their offensive power #1: able to form blades from any part of their body

5. their offensive power #2: they are very hungry and can (and will) eat anything (even other Awakeneds, which normally is considered gross, as aka cannabalism, by most Awakeneds)....

6. their offensive power #3: their persistance... ("very hungry bloodhounds")

7. their speed, they move very fast (they travel great distances very fast, along with Alicia+Beth, lol).

8. their tactics/programming/coding: they retreat back to Org HQs when more then half of them (of their "pack") are dead.

9. their Soul Link "Naruto shadow clone" ability of sharing combat experience and knowledge.

10. they "like" the "infection" ability as it "liberates/frees" them.... from the Org's mental-yoki control.....

11. mass producable... no identical twins required...

12. etc... (anything else I'm forgetting...)

This was a great chapter. Good mix of action and revelations/plot.

Looks like Helen'll get an eyepatch or something. I think it would actually fit her quite well :3

ooh. but what about Helen's eye?

And the Abyss Feeders... very interesting. that was a good plot twist. but i don't even think they will be a match for Easley. He'll be defeated by one of the more main characters. Still, they'll probably put up a good fight.

and if they've destroyed towns, yet they're only supposed to go after Easley, does that mean that they're defective or that they've met Easley before and it ended in a draw? or is it both? hmm...

while this is cool and all, i wanna know what's up with Riful and the twins.

Glad to see Easley in a dire pinch.

Abyss Feeders is a pretty nice name considering the other things it could've been. Hopefully Easley doesn't die.

  • #48
Abyss feeders, is Isley screwed now or what? Although his released form is really cool =P

To think, I waited 3 months for these guys to make a move.  But it certainly paid off.  I really wasn't expecting the Awakened Easly to see combat this chapter.
