Well it was pretty obvious that she was either Mother or other close member of Family, so not at least to me that Moment was not  as Iconic as SW moment with Luke and Vader.

If the OVA is somewhat legit, even though Burdock was a low ranked warrior, he was most likely stronger than most of the other warriors and would have kept on climbing the ranks. So I don't think Goku's a good example :) Guts would probably be a better one, though we don't really know much about his parents.



It´s not canon, no Movie is canon. The Bardock Anime special although great isn´t canon, it´s also specified that he only reached that point through training and Zenkai boosts due to his near death experiences if you were to quote it.



The Bardock Movie where he becomes a Super saiyan isn´t canon either and loathed by fans as it´s borderline fanfiction.

I doubt that, probably it´s some shit like her being the original queen and Acnologia only rising to that title after conquerin  the past.



Which leaves one question, why is he right now at the move. What was he doing 400years? Busting his nut? I mean it would make sense if they explain it through exhaustion or a seal  or whatever excuse as long as it´s done reasoable.



If he had to rest 400 years because of a battle against 10 billion dragons which he won i´d make sense. If it´s never explained it´s kinda annoying.

We learned that they send the Dragon Slayers to the future because there they are powerful enough to defeat Acnologia "Ocarina of time" *wink wnk*, but what is the guarantee that he will remain silent for 400years?

I like how Mashima just makes his characters apologize for nearly killing someone, then it's all good like it never happened. He did the same with Lucy and Flare. I don't really care, it's just that a few panels to make their tension disappear is lazy and convenient.



I also like how Mashima can pull some random character/title out of his ass and make everyone interested like it's been built up for several chapters. Almost instantly everyone had an interest in Irene when she was first pulled from nowhere. Now everyone can't wait to hear a backstory. Mashima sure is lucky his fans are easy to please. By calling herself the 'Queen of Dragons', it seems Irene has rejuvenated her relevance. GG, Mashima. You manipulate your fans so well. Being a writer, though, I can see through most of Hiro's tactics.



Also, for those talking about my favorite book series, Neville Longbottom could have very well been the boy to kill Voldemort, but the Dark Wizard chose Harry as his adversary.
