What a chapter, Mavis is save thankfully, able to use some illusion magic, Eileen looks like an idiot, ha ha, about time someone took her down a peg.



And Mavis saved by Mest, maybe he can redeem himself, though knowing his taste in women, I am still feeling un eased living the first alone with him.



The Gajeel / Levy reunion, yes I have waited for that, far to long.



So Mavis and Zera have their little mind, is Fairy Tail Zero, it is just so sad again. Though finding out Droy is attracted to Zera, that ruined it a bit, we already have Mest, we don't need another one in the guild.



So Lucy and Dimaria that was off screen, I guess it is for the best. And Dimaria she is delussion if she blaming Lucy for what happened to Brandish, that is on you Dimaria. And big shocker Brandish is still alive. The big story it seems E.N.D. is coming.



Okay now I have to wait over a week for the next chapter dam.

I made sure to avoid the threads while the Gray gushing was going on. The stupidity and hypocrisy levels would have been lethal

Well... to be fair most of FT has been like this, there has been some enjoyable arcs, but its always the same formula.



Not really. Before there was clear  foreshadowing at what will happen and while it had some meh conclusions, a lot of stuff made sense and Mashima's intentions, corny or not, were clear. It was never this kind of back and forth of mashima not knowing what he wants to do.

It was never good. The storywriting was always shit.

Lucy...literally got offscreened.



One of main characters.

THe protagonist telling the whole story.

Got offscreened and is now in for some fanservice bondage.

Not only she got no real fight and got offscreened, now most likely Natsu will save her AGAIN and she will again serve as a way to further his plotline....



Not only that but the rest of chapter was nonsensical nakama speeches again and again and again as a filler.



Mashima, I keep expecting the WORST out of you and you KEEP surprising with how much worse you can write than mye expectations....





What I do think is hilarious is how Mashima seems to have zero direction in this arc

"Oh look Nasu has a tumor">  "Oh look tumor is gone" > "Oh look it is back"

"Oh look Zera is dead all along"> "Oh Look Zera is back"> "Nope she is not it was just some very farfetched illusion shit that made no sense this time!"

"Oh look God Serena is hERE!" > "OH look he got oneshotted!"> "oh look he is back!" > "nope oneshotted again!"





This literally feels now as if Mashima is pulling this arc out of his own ass with no real plan for it. Stuff is introduced, then retconned away, then reintroduced via more retcons and so on. Did anything in last few dozen chapters had any real importance or value beyond maybe one or two events? Not really. Mashima wrote himself into a corner, has no idea or plan on what to do and is stalling.
