Think I missed Acnologia losing his arm or forgotten, seems like it's regenerating now a bit though.

If this is the final arc...it's sure gonna be a long one.

Don't forget that Natsu isn't a human but a demon. Zeref most likely made him immortal in some way as well.

I love how Mashima has had at least some fanservice every arc, Brandish seems to be huge fanservice for foot types...

Speaking of Brandish, I just realised something. Her power seems to be the ability to shrink people, and she can apparently shrink anyone or anything since she has shrunken entire islands and one of the Spriggan 12... so... WHY DOESN'T ZEREF HAVE HER SHRINK HIM, AND THEN KILL HIM, SINCE HE WANTS TO DIE SO BADLY?



Major, major plot hole just discovered. Like wow. Zeref has stated (I think in the last chapter or the one before it) that you can't die even from beheading if you have the Ankseram curse. But if you still have the brain intact, then I guess that's how the curse keeps you alive?



What if all Brandish had to do was squish Zeref to a pile of mush? Even if that didn't work (and this is kind of gross, but bear with me) she could probably swallow shrunken Zeref and then he would be digested by her... HOW WOULD HE EVEN SURVIVE THAT???



I'm guessing that when he first met Brandish and learned what she could do, Zeref probably tried all that but for some reason it didn't work. I dunno why it wouldn't, unless he was somehow immune to the shrinking, but then that would be just stupid.

Anyway... matchup theories!




(POTENTIAL MATCHUPS)



Gray vs. Invel (Let's face it, Gray and Juvia are both strong enough to solo now, we still don't know the full extent of Gray's demonslayer powers that he got from his father. Even if it's not enough, there will be others who join in once Gray has been thoroughly messed up)



Laxus and Natsu vs. Ajeel



Erza, Kagura, and Millianna vs. Diamaria (I want to see the catwoman in at least one of the upcoming fights, Millianna has barely done crap in all of Fairy Tail)



Juvia vs. Brandish (I'm calling it, Juvia is going to solo win by making Brandish choke on either water or herself in hydra form, even if she gets shrunk somehow; Juvia's water magic is kind of hax. Also, I'm predicting more than just feet fanservice from Brandish, this seems like the final arc, and Brandish happens to be Mashima's final champion of fanservice or something. This is honestly the first time I have ever seen serious giantess stuff in a manga of all places)



Gajeel and Levy vs. BADD MANN (Love that name, just love that name. Also he is probably the weakest of the Spriggan 12, I just get that vibe from him)



Lisanna, Mirajane, and Elfman vs. God Serena (You know Elfman was PISSED... or was

that someone else?)



There is just no way Makarov is winning solo against Magic King August, I imagine it's going to be him and whoever is left from matchups vs. that guy. Heck, there are going to be some solo fights, some duo or multi fights, and then at least one fight where nearly all of freaking Fairy Tail and a bunch of other guilds are up against one guy, that is either going to be Acnologia, Magic King August, or Zeref (I'm hoping it's not Zeref, that would be stupid and end up with a lot of dead, see below)



Either before or after the Fairy Tail vs. Spriggan 12 matchups, either EVERYONE (Or anyone who is left) is going to fight Acnologia (In fact, Acnologia might not even be fighting yet, but he will for sure be raising hell during the festival and the fights)



Mavis is going to fight Zeref, but not in the usual sense. I don't think she is going to let Fairy Tail fight him, other than letting Natsu try and one-shot Zeref only for him to fail and then they both will have to deal with him some other way; Natsu, for like probably the first time in the whole series, is going to have to solve the problem another way other than fighting, and it will be two of the only people whom

Zeref really loved up against him. Probably a nice way to end this arc, if not the series. I'm still guessing like others have predicted that Zeref is going to die when he is convinced to love himself.

I also really want to see some backstories (perhaps by flashbacks, how else?) to the Spriggan 12, like how did they meet Zeref, how did he start his kingdom, etc. What I really, really don't want is for there to be loose story ends in this arc.



This is getting to be one hell of an arc, SUCH HYPE...

Also, WTF is Jellal, Meredy, the former Oracon Seis members, and all of Crime Sorciere doing? They too have just been GONE since Tartaros Arc, and they barely did anything in that arc other than one fight where they got new members.



Seriously, all Mashima needs to do to make this arc perfect is to have both of them make a return, do something interesting other than return (Would love to see at least one more Jellal x Erza moment, even if they decide to break up and Erza gets with someone else LIKE NATSU... yeah, right, like that's going to happen), and make the fights not suck.



EDIT: I'm sorry if this was one big wall of text with spoilers from past chapters, I have put tags and shortened it a bit.

How long is this arc gonna be? Hiro said in vol 49/50 that the story wasn't quite at the end yet. I'd rather it not be dragged on like Naruto's final arc.

Feet fanservice!

How can u even deny this is the last arc anymore? Hiro even wrote Preperation for the final battle.

Zeref, Acnologia and Fairy tail are gonna go at it.

We've already been introduced to the 4 saints of Ishgar. We got Mavis and Zeref's backstory. What else is there to reveal. If it isn't then I have no idea what will happen. Maybe Fairy tail will get REKT and we'll get a post apocalyptic part of the series?



Let's just hope all the build up isn't for nothing.
