Yuriy probably got cursed like Mavis and Zeref and became ageless. By keeping his youth and training for a hundred years,it is possible to become the continent's strongest mage. Plus,he is Makarov's father and Laxus's grandfather...and Zeref himself taught him magic.



Unlike Ivan,who is a pussy,Laxus and Makarov are frightening strong,so it definitely runs in the veins. He has the makings and had a master like Zeref. Only reason why hades was "weak" was because of his old age and reliance on that heart to unleash his full power.

Goood point, what else I noticed the guy seemed to not have aged at all. I mean we learned why Mavis is in that Loli stage and how she´s older than it seems.



Dear god, this is giving me the chills right now, assuming that Yury is Makarov´s Dad and we haven´t yet confirmed a mother but Yury being hinted to be only slightly older than Mavis and Makarov and Mavis having an age difference of 23 years she would make a candiate, BUT NO HIRO YOU DON´T DO THAT!. I mean I can even imagine how he excuses such bullshit with Mavis using "illusions" to have an adult form. But no I get it that she´s technically over 18 still NO! Make Yury his uncle or something and Makarov the son of his long lost brother who is dead now or some bullshit. Or make Yury fall in love with some skank like Cana´s mom that dumped him, just no Lolly love is ok when it´s magic!

They do not matter at all, those guys are even weaker than Laxus there is no point in revealing those guys and would  Hiro only force to create more characters that have no impact to the story.



How do you know that they are weaker than laxus? And why should those characters be only about fighting? They may have interesting magics themselves. They may have impact, too. They are going to face very powerful wizards from another continent.

Look at all those fodders at the end, and the 2nd ranked council member looking like Antonio Banderas from that one movie where he rocked the same mustache.
