Fairy Tail Chapter 439 Discussion

Nice development actually. I always felt that FT world was lacking comparing to Rave, but this is beginning to build.

The twist about Mest and Lumen Historie was also great.

THe plot thickens and I fuckin love it. Now the doomsayers who were all "OOOO FT IS ENDING FOR SURE SOON!" can shut the fuck up

I will really, really, really like this arc if it turns into a legitimate war. Certain teams are sent to different regions to fight, they have to plan movements accordingly while teaming up with Lamia Scale, Sabertooth, etc, etc. If it's just the same old style I'm going to be disappointed. I don't mind new arcs if they bring something new to the table. But if they're going to play out like all the others, just give us END, Acnologia, and Zeref.

The way Tartarus was gives me hope that Mashima could be doing something really cool, but I'm not sold as of yet.

He was obviously shocked when Makarov put the guild mark on him because he hadn't un-done the spell yet. All of which was explained in the chapter.

So if this empire is "stronger," and they had Markarov.... Wouldn't it be easy to extract the information from him? Look at Mests powers, lucy has Gemini, cobra can hear thoughts, Tartarus dude switched the key from Jellal to him........ It seems like secrets aren't sacred in this world.

Onii chan means is a term young kids, specially girls use to refer to their elder brothers/sisters. There are more formal ways,or less childish,to do it,like Aniki which I think is only for big brother. Natsu is more likely to use it. There is a term for Big Sister but I don't know how it's written. Anoue? bah,it's besides the point.

I thought big sister is one instead of onii or are you talking about the adult version. And I said Onii-chan cuz have you met Natsu he acts like a little kid when he is not in serious mode during fights so I expect him t go ONII-CHAN!!!!! oh and about the whole use commas etc with due respect and with my most sincere apologies I will not do that unless I feel the need to because school just got out and ELA was my worst subject I always got b's while I got a's in all my other classes so since school is out I'm taking a breather and for once not stressing on my writing because I don't have to fry my brain trying to get an A and if you had my ELA teacher you'd know why.

While it resembles FMA, Zeref and Hohenheim's stories are different. Plus FMA is not the first story to ever have stuff like this (life and death research etc.). Didn't knew that Zeref was cursed on the western continent.



What´s your point I already said that I do not consider it a ripoff. My comment was targeted towards idiots who are gonna claim how Fairy Tail is a HxH ripoff because they copied the dark continent plontline.



Newsflash for those people worldbuilding is not exclusive to HxH.



Anyway. Fairy Tail got always alot of shit for not building it´s world, which was always a major issue for me, since I always considered those complaints baseless. Especially because they tend to come from people who dickride One Piece or FMA. FMA had nearly no details in it´s  worldbuilding even though we knew how the main country itself worked, we never got to see how the culture landscape or people of all the other countries worked. We had a vague describtion of the existence of different other countries and their placement on the worldmap, but nothing else.

FMA always was very condensed in it´s Universe.



As for One Piece besides the few exceptions of phantasmal places like Skypea, Fishman Island or Little Garden, the Islands are fairly repetetive and consisting of regular Islands with different government systems or just simply different rulers, with an overarching supreme ruling system.



Fairy Tails worldbuilding was never bad considering that within that universe there exists an alternative dimension with a really small monolithic world contained inside of it.

Mashima showed us that villages with giants and islands with demonic but not evil creatures exist.  

This chapter now further expands the world of Fairy Tail and explains that it´s world is made up of two continents, which is good world building imo.
