Okay so like I thought Zeref came to take the book and leave. Natsu and the others better be thanking their lucky star, because especially in their condition if Zeref came here to fight, they are screwed. But I wonder what did Zeref mean that if they survived this, he would show Natsu more despair, obviously he meant he would fight him, but right away on another day? I think he meant on another day when Natsu is 100%, Zeref doesn't need an handicap and I think Zeref is one of those villains have some honorable pride that he is not going want to an tired just barely alive Natsu. Besides we need to give Natsu a punter's chance.
So Igneel said Natsu and the others are no longer in danger of becoming dragons, I still think that could happen in the final arc, the dragon slayers one time only unlock abilities they never knew they had to beat Zeref. So Igneel is other reason is just to beat Acnologia and just didn't happen, well looks like he is dead.
Looks like he is dead, but after what happened with Makarov in the Tenrou Island arc against the same Acnologia, I am not ready to bury Igneel just yet, it looks like a goodbye death speech, but Makarov did the same thing and lived, so who knows, I think most likely he is dead, but you never know.
Now the question is how the hell are they going to survive Acnologia, I don't think they are going to beat them, just going to have to get him to retreat, perhaps Igneel did take enough out of him, that if the other dragons ganged up on him, he might just retreat. That or perhaps Lumia Historia can do something. If Zeref wants to fight Natsu so bad, why doesn't he help get rid of Acnlogia, I knew he could chased him away. Interesting to see what happens next.
