This official ranking polls is a joke according to many japanese fans actually.

Moreover it’s Magazine Special(マガジンSPECIAL), not Weekly Shounen Magazine(週刊少年マガジン) where Fairytail is officially released every week.
Frankly speaking, most fans’ reaction is “ウェンディとグレイよりハッピーが上だと？ なんだこれwwwwwwww (Happy is higher than Wendy and Gray?! WTF is that? LOL)”
It’s hard to say as a reliable one reflecting Japanese FT fans and like others I didn’t even know about the poll thing either. Most fans usually don’t check the Magazine Special. (moreover it seems there were some multiple votes.) I think Gray, Erza, Wendy would be much higher than this, if official polls are done. "

Jellal, Gajeel and Gildartz lost to fucking charle
Mavis despite it being so popular, was in number 18.
and Gajeel doesn't even make the top 20, with Lisanna being more popular than Gajeel.
yeah it's a big joke, and the ranking doesn't even represent the actual japanese fandom. make it an official poll, and the results will be different.
